1. Is it true that "LV" is
never upside down?
No, it is not. Unless there is a seam
to make each side right side up, it is unavoidable to make some panels
upside down. For example, Speedy (doctor's bag) is one
continuous large piece from the front to the back, without a seam on
the bottom which naturally makes the back upside down.
2. Is it true that "LV"
is never cut off or sewn through?
No, it is not. Louis Vuitton does
their best to keep "LV's" intact, but depending on the
design, it is not always possible.
3. Is it true that Louis Vuitton
does not use glue?
No, it is not true. Anybody who does
sewing knows that thick pieces (such as leather or vinyl) must be
glued together before stitching. Louis Vuitton is not an
exception.
4. Does Louis Vuitton use
"serial numbers"?
Not on their regular items. "Serial" means
"sequential". Louis Vuitton uses a "date stamp"
that is NOT unique to every piece. The only exception is limited
editions, such as "14th of 5,000" limited production.
5. Is the date code any
determining factor of authenticity?
Not at all! Many recent fakes
come with valid date codes. Many authentic ones are without date
codes. Please refer to our information site (logo below).
6. Is the monogram canvas leather?
No, it is VINYL :)
7. Is Alcantara lining suede?
No, it is very synthetic, similar to
the fabric used for some car interiors.
8. Is it true that fakes' leather
won't turn color to the famous "Louis Vuitton patina"?
No, it is not. Many high-end fakes
use genuine leather, some are even with a very high quality leather like
Louis Vuitton's. These fakes are blatantly advertised as
"Leather will obtain the same patina as Louis Vuitton", and
they will.
9. Is there wholesale or discounts
by Louis Vuitton?
Never. Their products are only
sold through their direct boutiques and eLuxury.com. There
is no "factory rejects", "manager's special",
"discontinued & reduced price", or any other discounts
whatsoever.
10. What about those online shops
that sell "brand new and authentic Louis Vuitton" for less than
retail?
They are most assuredly selling fakes,
for the reason that there is absolutely no wholesale. Most of them
sell fake Louis Vuitton for 1/2-1/5 of retail. That is your first
clue. That is why it's important that you know how much authentic
Louis Vuitton costs. Please do not let your "wishful
thinking" blind you. There is no bargains if you are looking
for a brand new Louis Vuitton purse.
